The Policies and Achievements of the government and Regeneration of the Filipino by Manuel L. Quezon

“The Filipino of today is soft, easy going. His is tendency is towards parasitism. He inclined to sustained strenuous effort; He lacks earnestness. Face-saving is the dominant note in the confused symphony of his existence. His sense of righteousness is often dulled by the desire of personal gain. His norm of conduct is generally prompted by expediency rather than by principle. He shows a failing in that superb courage which impels action because it is right, even at the cost of self-sacrifice. His greatest fear is not to do wrong, but of being caught doing wrong.”

Parasitim is when someone benefits to other’s hardwork. like in scientific explanation, is a relationship between two organisms where one is usually harmed and the other gets benefits from the relationship. Parasites are smaller than their host organism and can reproduce quicker, causing more damage to the host.

In the speech of the our past President he higlight this one trait of Filipinos which are not good. he didn’t intend to offend nor to bring the Philippines down but to point out the wrong doings. Cheating is unfair and not a good quality of a Filipino whose aim is to bring the Philippines to the top.

Success is not a destination, but the road that you’re on. Being successful means that you’re working hard and walking your walk every day. You can only live your dream by working hard towards it. That’s living your dream.

It’s mainly about working hard and proving to people you’re serious about it, and stretching yourself and learning. The mistake a lot of actors make, particularly young ones, is allowing themselves to feel that they’re the finished articles, the bee’s knees, and it’s not true.

To succeed in life one must endure the challenges life presents and work to overcome these challenges to be the best possible person that one can be. We must not only use hard work to impress those around us but also to achieve goals that we set for ourselves. If we as individuals do not work hard to succeed, then we do not receive the same satisfaction as we would if we put in hour upon hour or even year upon year of work to achieve our goals. I believe for one to be successful, he must be willing to work hard to succeed in any aspect of life.

Hours of hard work and training are the key to success. Michael Phelps, known as the greatest Olympian of all time is the epitome of hard work. Phelps started swimming at the age of seven. Every time Phelps competes his times drop and new world records are set. This is not just a coincidence but a result of hours of hard work and dedication. Phelps trains 365 days a year with two sessions on over forty percent of those days. When all other swimmers are in bed or packing up to go home, Phelps is still in the pool mastering the art of swimming. This kind of dedication and training is why Michael Phelps is not only the greatest swimmer but also the greatest Olympian of all time.

I can also testify to the idea of hard work leading to success in my own life. As a junior I was named a starter on my high school football team. After a coaching change I came out of spring practice as a second team linebacker. I spent my whole summer training harder than everyone else. I had my old coach train me twice a week; while everyone else was still asleep I was up conditioning and lifting weights. I dedicated my summer to becoming the best football player I could be, training twice a day six days a week. In the last preseason game against Byrnes High School, I got my starting position back. This was an amazing accomplishment for me and taught me that if I work hard I will be rewarded.

No doubt, success is the reward for hard work. Every successful person in history has worked hard to gain fame or fortune, however we must, also work hard to be successful in our own eyes. We must learn to work hard to satisfy our conscience whether our goals are starting on our high school sports team or being the owner of our own business. No matter what our goals are, we must be willing to sacrifice our time, body, and mind to work as hard as we can to be the best that we can be. I believe with all my heart and through my personal experiences that hard work is the key to success.

So be truthful, work hard and never cheat. Like in the song Magtanim ay di biro song

Cupid and Psyche (Venus’ Voice)

I am the Goddess of beauty, all people must praise me. I am your god! All men must recognize how beautiful I am. All men must kneel down and give their offerings to me, but what happened? Psyche came into the picture. She took it all. She stole the attention which was supposedly mine. Everyone’s screaming for the name of their goddess of beauty, Psyche.

I felt useless. I am the reigning queen, but it seems like I am not. Who is that Psyche anyway? She is immortal and I am a god but my beauty is nothing compared to her. Even Cupid my beloved son, she took him away from me. My cupid, he is my greatest treasure but now he’s gone.

My greatest fear came. Cupid came to me in a great disappointment. He had this wound in his arms and in his heart.  My son is a victim of Psyche and that suspect must pay for all the things she did. She stole my crown, and now she hurt my son. She must pay. I can accept that he took my servants, but stealing my son is a wrong move. I will make sure that she will pay for it. I will give her sufferings that she can’t endure.

But what touches my heart is Psyche’s determination. She is patient and she is so enduring. I gave the most impossible challenge to her but she manages to overcome those. She is beautiful from the outside and the inside. She is really a god of beauty. I can’t blame my son from loving that woman. Maybe, it is the perfect time to let them go, to have their own life. Now, they are living peacefully in the land of goddesses. I don’t have to worry about my son.  She truly love my Cupid and I know that woman will take care of my son very well.

The Cost of Living

The cost of living is an interesting story to read. The title itself leads me to my curiosity. In the title it suggests that our life has its cost very contradicting to what I know that life is a gift from God. I expect that the story will have enough reasons to prove that living has its cost.

David is a very loving husband to his beloved wife, Mrs. Rachel Anastasia “Shelley” Lazaro. An accident happened that brings his wife to her death. It was his greatest fear, to lose his greatest treasure-her wife. Mateo came into the picture that changed the whole story. He offered a miracle, he offered life for a dead person and this time for Shelley. He accepted it though he is striving for the maintenance of the LRX (Life Extension Regimen) of her wife. He knew that it was immoral to do such decision but he really loves her wife that he don’t want to lose her. All of his property were sold. He came into the point that he didn’t have the money to buy the LRX of her wife. He felt the guilt and the struggle seeing his love ones suffering from hunger. The next day he bought the maintenance and when got to their home he saw their cat whom they call it Sparky, lifeless in the hands of Shelley and said “I got really hungry”. I was blown up especially in the last part. I didn’t expect the LRX was not really a clean drug, that it was a creepy substance. This story is somehow depicting the real life. The fact that David value his wife so much, that he will do whatever it takes. It reflects the real essence of love. In this story, the true meaning of love was emphasized. I admire the love of David for his wife that he endure all the struggle just for the sake of Shelley. The only thing that bothers me in the story is the LRX substance. It is weird that it was made up of creepy thing. I think it was made out of blood and flesh of animals or worst human. If I was David I will not do the same thing. I will accept her death because it was her time, who am I to prolong it? I believe in God and immorality is not my doing. I know it is so hard to accept that I will lose her but I know it will heal through the guidance of the God Almighty. If I will have the chance to explore more about the story, I will look into the composition of LRX.I am very much curios of that because the story didn’t reveal the LRX as well as the real state of the resurrected man.The social issue reflected in this story is the real situation of the poor in terms of healthcare. Poor ones cannot afford the medicines, while the rich can have it anytime. People have to strive for the medicine and for their life. I can say in this story that truly love conquers all. Though struggle, poverty and million problems hinder a relationship, it will not break as long as love is binding them

We all have our sacrifices for our loved ones. We do all the things that we can for their happiness and freedom.
